ORDERS
All orders are charged at the time of purchase, including made-to-order and pre-order goods which can take up to 4 weeks to ship.

At-once goods will be packaged and shipped within 2-3 business days.
Made-to-order goods: each product page will detail the approximate delivery date, but orders will be packaged and shipped as soon as they are ready-to-go.

SHIPPING FEES
You will be able to see your options at the cart&checkout page just by entering your country, town and zip code. However, we have added a chart of current flat-rate fees below for you to get an idea before shopping.

Shipping fees are charged per order (not per item) so if you buy multiple items the shipping total will remain the same as if you only ordered one piece, even if it costs us more to consolidate your purchase.
Example:
If you purchase a fedora, our flat rate priority fee is $15
If you purchase a fedora + any other hat, our flat rate priority fee remains $15
(avg. = $7.50 per hat in this case!)
This only applies if goods are shipped together. If you prefer the items to be shipped separately, (ie. a custom hat vs an at-once hat) the shipping fees will be applied to each separate package.

LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED GOODS
We are not responsible for lost or stolen or damaged items but will help with any information needed to make a claims with the carrier/insurance.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES POLICIES:
ALL SALES ARE FINAL ON THE FOLLOWING PURCHASES:

  • custom/made-to-order goods
  • sale items

unless the product is defective or we shipped the wrong item in error.

US RETURNS & EXCHANGES
We accept valid return requests from US customers within 14 days of receipt, as long as the hat is unworn and in its original condition and packaging.
The customer is responsible for return shipping fees.

To initiate a return or exchange, simply notify us of your intent via the contact form.

Option 1
You can mail the package back to us yourself. (not advisable)
Option 2
Buy a pre-paid, trackable return shipping label that we will issue to you via email.
Next print it out and tape to the box.
Then drop the box off at your local USPS or arrange a free pickup online at usps.com.
If you do not have access to a printer we will mail the label out to you, just let us know.
As soon as the goods are back in our hands we will process your exchange or issue your refund via your original payment method.
Please make sure to package the box as carefully as possible so that no damage occurs during transit as this will affect your refund.

PUERTO RICO: ALL OF THE ABOVE APPLIES except:
SHIPPING = $5.00 FLAT
LOCAL PICKUP: arrangements can be made for free local pickup in Guaynabo area, just use the contact form or IG inbox.

VALID RETURNS/EXCHANGES

IMPORT TAXES, TARIFFS and DUTIES are determined at the port of entry and are the customer’s responsibility.
Failure to pay or accept these fees will result in the package being returned to us and will incur extra shipping fees to be deducted from any refund. You can calculate the approximate import duties using the link below (plus a Canada Post service fee of approx $9.99CAN)

Example: For a Ray fedora priced @ $68 going to Quebec
PAYABLE ON SITE : hat + shipping (priority mail) = $68 + $45 = $113 (US)
PAYABLE ON ARRIVAL (collected by customs and Canada Post) duty & tax + Canada Post fee
= CA $31 + CA $9.99 = CA $40.99 payable upon arrival.

TRACKING
You will receive an email containing the tracking link for your order once it has been shipped. We advise following these guidelines to best keep track of your package.

  • follow the link in the email and sign up for free email or text alerts from the USPS tracking page.
  • do the same with a free international e-commerce tracking service such as parcelmonitor.com
  • This is IMPORTANT because once the package reaches your country it will become the possession and responsibility of your country’s postal delivery service (Canada Post) Parcelmonitor (or other) will enable you to continue tracking from there which is especially important at this stage to avoid delivery issues which can result in your order being accidentally returned to us.

THE SMALL PRINT!

SALES ARE FINAL ON THE FOLLOWING PURCHASES:

Due to high international shipping costs and long transit times we cannot accept returns or exchanges for international purchases unless the product is defective or we shipped the wrong item in error.

RETURNED GOODS DUE TO NON-DELIVERY OR ABANDONMENT
Should product get returned to us due to non-delivery (bad address) or abandonment, shipping costs will be deducted from any refund amount. These refunds cannot be processed until the goods are back at our base (which can take months), so please take care to read all the tracking information below.
Don’t worry, 99.9% of our international shipments have gone according to plan!

CHOOSING THE RIGHT STYLE FOR YOUR FACE.
At Hatsmithe, we firmly believe that you shouldn’t be restricted by preconceived ideas about whether a particular hat, or even if any, will suit you.
If you fall in love with a certain hat, then that is the right one for you! Because it’s all about how your wear it, how you tip it, if you keep it crisp, or prefer it to look more lived in, wear it as a shield or a statement. That’s the beauty of hats, how each person makes theirs uniquely their own regardless of shape or style.

Having said that, the size is important because it determines where the hat sits, from lower down over the ears (bigger), to perched high up on the back of your head (smaller). So, with that in mind…

FIT
Please be sure to order the correct size to avoid any disappointments.
It is generally better to err on the larger choice if you are wavering between two sizes as its easier to size a hat down than up.
But, again, this will be determined by how you prefer to wear your hat.
To get the correct measurement you will need a cloth measuring tape which you should wrap around your head both at it’s widest and also at the position you most like to wear your hats in order to get the best idea. See each individual style for any relevant info or tips.
