100% VEGAN FAUX FELT
FIT
As with all fedoras the brim will distort if the hat is too tight. The Claudeux fits more round than oval (shorter from front-to-back and wider from side-to-side), so choosing the correct size is especially important with this style.

SIZE CHART
You can find your size by measuring around the widest part of your head (above the ears) with a cloth tape measure.
Be sure to give yourself some room if you have a lot of hair or like a looser fit. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up.

GENERAL CARE
+ Do not crush or allow your hat to get crushed
+ Do not leave in direct sunlight or anywhere extremely hot such as a car for hours on end
+ Our Vf fedoras can withstand a light shower, but they are not waterproof per se as rain will seep in through the seams for example.
+ If your hat gets wet, allow it to air dry before wearing again or storing – brim side up for up-brims, brim side down on a flat surface for flat brims.
DIRT & LINT
+ PRO tip for keeping lint and pet hair to a minimum especially on the black fedoras: we have found that spraying the hat with a shoe or fabric waterproofing/protection spray really helps to keep the lint at bay. There are many vegan-friendly, non-toxic products on the market today.
+ Brush dust and lint off with a soft brush (we use a synthetic house painting brush as most hat brushes contain boar or horse hair!)
+ Lint rollers and invisible tape can also be used lightly.
+ Dirt and stains can be spot cleaned by gently dabbing the area with a clean cloth and diluted mild detergent. Dabbing again with water, then dry dabbing to remove excess moisture and finally leave to air dry. Do not rub.
FLAT BRIM CARE
The Claude is not a super stiff hat, but rather has its edge finished with millinery wire to create a flat brim that is flexible but not floppy and will maintain its shape with due care.
Due to this we highly recommend storing flat or hanging against a wall, and not stacked.
The underside of the brim is treated with a non-toxic, vegan stiffener (as opposed to the lacquers often used in millinery) which is water soluble, so please be advised not to wear it in the rain.
If your hat does get wet or lose shape, allow to dry flat and follow our flat brim maintenance instructions below:
The flatness of the brim can be refreshed from time-to-time with a quick pressing (ironing) as follows:
You may spritz the brim with a good quality spray starch before ironing to provide some stiffness, but this is not necessary.
Be sure to follow the instructions that come with the spray starch if using.
To begin: lay the hat, brim down, on an ironing board or other covered, flat surface.
Place a folded cotton bandanna or other cotton fabric in between the iron and the brim while lightly pressing for a few seconds, little by little all around the hat.
Flat, heavy objects such as books can be placed all around the brim edges as it cools.
Allow the hat to cool down completely in this flat position before moving or wearing.
NEVER place a hot iron in direct contact with our fedoras as this will cause scorching and damage.
